Hammers name two more
The Thurrock Hammers have announced a further two riders for their National League Challenge match against the Mildenhall Fen Tigers (Sunday 30th June – First race 3pm)
Sheldon Davies & Nathan Ablitt will fill the reserve berths for the clash at West Row.
Davies, who rode for The Thurrock Hammers against the Kent Kings has recently landed a team spot with National League side Cradley Heath, whilst Ablitt, who rides for the Kings is in his first full season in the sport, having won the British 150cc Championship in 2016 and the 250cc Champion in 2018.
Hammers Operations Director Russell Keetch commented:
“Firstly, we’d like to send our best wishes to the three Fen Tigers (Charlie Brooks, Elliot Kelly & Macauley Leek) who were injured during Sunday’s meeting against the Heathens, and we hope all three are back in action again soon.
We’re very happy to include Sheldon & Nathan in our Hammers starting seven. Sheldon rode for us in the Tunnel Trophy and we like his approach and attitude and are delighted to see him land a team berth for Cradley. We also saw Nathan in action during the Trophy meeting and again liked his approach, combined with his desire to ride for us and gain further track time.
Part of our ethos with The Hammers is to give up and coming youngsters track time, so we’re pleased to be able to offer that to Sheldon & Nathan and hopefully other younger riders in the future.”
Rider support packages are available to help maintain awareness and fund the campaign for the Hammers to return to Thurrock. Click here for full details:
