Richard joins up with The Hammers
The Thurrock Hammers team building is almost complete with the announcement that Richard Andrews will join the team for their National League Challenge match against the Mildenhall Fen Tigers.
The 27-year-old currently rides for and is captain of The Plymouth Gladiators in the National League, having previously ridden for teams including Weymouth, Stoke, Newport, Buxton, Cradley and Eastbourne, where he won the National Trophy, the Gold Cup and the Knock-out cup.
Hammers Director Mark Sexton commented:
“We wanted to include Richard in recognition of his outstanding performance in our Hammers colours at last year’s Tunnel Trophy victory over Kent and because he is in very good form despite suffering an early season injury which, unfortunately, prevented him taking part in our recent win at Central Park.
The West Row crowd will be guaranteed full commitment and entertainment from Richard and we’re really looking forward to having him on board again.”
The final rider to complete the Hammers septet will be announced tomorrow (Wednesday 12th June)
The meeting against the Fen Tigers takes place at West Row, Mildenhall on Sunday the 30th June (first race 3pm). Rider support packages are still available, with further information available here:
